Lacy phacelia

Phacelia tanacetifolia

Lacy phacelia, also known as bee pasture or purple tansy, is a very high-yielding honey plant, whose nectar production is comparable to that of rapeseed or buckwheat. The plant is also very good as green manure, since its dense root system does an excellent job of utilising soil nutrients; once it has decayed, these nutrients are easily available to the next crop. Lacy phacelia leaves behind an even topsoil that has been penetrated by roots. It also maintains or increases the soil’s humus content and thus its fertility.
