Blue (narrow-leaved) lupin (bitter)

Lupinus angustifolius

The blue lupin – also known as narrow-leaved lupin (Lupinus angustifolius) – is ideal as a catch crop, whether as a pure crop or in catch crop mixtures. Unlike the blue, yellow and white sweet lupins, blue lupins are varieties that have been specially bred for catch crop cultivation. They are generally more robust than the sweet lupins and show a greater emphasis on the characteristics of depth and intensity of root penetration and biomass formation.
