Winter forage rapeseed

Brassica napus

In addition to its use as a fodder plant, winter forage rapeseed is also a source of humus and protects against erosion. It also prevents soil nitrogen leaching by holding it in place and has an extraordinarily deep root penetration. Furthermore, winter forage rapeseed is an excellent green manure crop because it remains in the vegetative stage due to insufficient exposure to cold, meaning that it predominantly forms leaves.
