Italian ryegrass - Lolium multiflorum ssp. italicum
The new diploid, recommended for winter cover cropping
MELINA is another new diploid cultivar. In cultivation value (VCU) trials, the cultivar showed impressive early development in spring. Its advantages also include good stability and winter-hardiness. Compared with other diploid varieties, MELINA has very good rust resistance as well as low susceptibility to bacterial wilt. Finally, yield levels are also a decisive factor in the approval process. MELINA went above and beyond in this area, with high yields in the first growth as well as high overall yields.
