Summer forage rapeseed

Brassica napus

As a leafy, nutrient-rich fodder plant, summer forage rapeseed provides generous amounts of protein-rich, easily digestible fodder in the autumn. In addition, it has a short growing period and good weed suppression. It is also extremely well-suited for use as a green manure plant that tolerates late seeding, since it enriches the soil with organic matter and helps create a stable tilth. Summer forage rapeseed has a high nitrogen demand, meaning that care must be taken to ensure sufficient N levels.
