Edinburgh is calling
The Euroseeds Congress 2025 invites you to Edinburgh, Scotland. Following a successful event in Copenhagen last year, it will now take place in the United Kingdom for the first time. Participation is open to Euroseeds members and non-members.
The congress is one of the leading international events for seeds, plant breeding and agriculture. It provides a forum for exchange and information for experts from research, industry and practice. Trends, challenges and solutions relating to the industry will be presented and discussed.
Where?
The congress will take place at the Edinburgh International Conference Centre (EICC) in Edinburgh, Scotland.
Key topics & focus areas
These topics will be at the heart of the congress:
- Geopolitical developments, protectionism and seed sovereignty: their impact on international trade and regulation.
- Innovation in plant breeding, in particular Novel Genomic Techniques (NGTs) and how regulations (e.g. UK vs. EU) are evolving.
- Regulation and harmonisation of rules – particularly between the EU and the UK – e.g. plant protection, seed marketing, phytosanitary requirements.
- Intellectual property (IP) for both plant varieties and biotech inventions.
- Implementation of the new EU Vision for Agriculture and how the seed sector contributes to resilience and sustainability.
